A handmade bag in glowing golden tones, named after amber, the "gold of the sea" that captures warm light in stone.
The flap is worked in a textured leaf-like stitch pattern, with rows of tiny feathered motifs in mustard, honey and amber. Soft touches of dusty mauve, taupe and cream run through the design like sunlight caught in resin. The body is crocheted in dense, horizontal stripes of hand-dyed yarn that shift from saffron and burnt orange to muted lavender and sand. No two stripes are quite alike, which gives the bag its painterly, sun-washed character.
Embrèa is crocheted over a plastic mesh canvas, which gives it a firm structure so it keeps its shape with everyday use.
